Once
the independent Tibetan Kingdom, Ladakh, "the land of passes" with
its monospace scenery and numerous spectacular and well - preserved Buddhist
monasteries, is truly a remarkable destination for all interest tours. This
itinerary provides an insight into cultural and religious background of the
remote world's highest inhabited plateau. Our itinerary includes day return
visits to number of monasteries located along a stretch of the Central Indus
valley, and the prestigious establishment of Hemis in the east. This
itinerary is advisable to be timed to arrive in the country for the climax
of one of the spectacular Hemis festival held every in the month of June -
July depending on the Buddhist calendar. A most dramatic introduction to the
"land of Lamas" could not be imagined, as dances in masks and
brilliant silk costumes whirl and leap against a background of sky and
mountains besides our 5 days safari tour to Dah - Bhima, recently thrown
open for tourists. The most interesting thing of this region are its
inhabitants - one of the purest Aryan races of Ladakh. Although, the tour
can be joined with our 4 days safari tour to Nubra Valley or Himalayan
safari to Manali with Tsomariri.| Tour code | : | WM - 1110 |

This
Jeep safari along the ancient Trans - Himalayan trade to obscure village and
Monasteries is a exciting new adventure holiday that packs so much into two
weeks. We travel overland from Delhi via Shimla, to a beautiful Sangla
valley in the region known as Kinnaur. There is a startling change in the
landscape as we enter the district of Spiti Valley. Spending one each night
at Taba, Kaza (head quarter of Spiti valley) & Losar include our side
trips to Dankar Gompa and the highest village of Kibber (4200 m). The people
of Spiti valley have close affinities with Zanskar and Ladakh who are
dedicated to the pre-Buddhist Bon religion. Driving out of the Spiti valley,
we spend a day sight-seeing in the attractive Manali town, before returning
to Delhi.
